Mixti is singing an anti-capitalist protest song that was outlawed by the fascist government of El Salvador during the proxy war in the 80s that was being funded by the US and Israel. They performed this important piece at the end of their masters degree recital.
Mixti, formerly known as Helena Colindres is a non-binary fat disabled brown neurodivergent two spirit versatile vocalist. They are singing the fourth movement of the Faure Requiem oratorio which is a soprano solo under the baton of Thomas Beveridge. They performed this work with the New Dominion Chorale on April 28, 2024 on the lands of the Patawomeck peoples, colonizers call these lands Virginia.
This piece has the lyrics:

Mixti is in a white dress with colorful flower embroidery from Guxgatan. They are wearing beaded jewelry with flower designs which were also made in Guxgatan: a medallion style necklace, earrings, and a bracelet that have white, orange, yellow, and black flowers with green and teal leaves. They are singing in in the front of a church and one can see the backs of some peoples heads in the first couple rows.

Mixti (they/them) Colindres is performing with the Arlington Chorale on the ancestral lands of the Doeg, Tauxenent, Pamunkey, and Piscataway peoples in December 2022.
Helena is a two spirit chronically disabled versatile vocalist, educator, and advocate.They are a Native person of Nahua ancestry, were born and raised on Yelamu Ohlone lands, and are currently based out of Piscataway lands.

Helena is a fat short Brown person with black hair to their waist and are wearing a white traditional dress from their homelands with rainbow colored embroidery of different flowers and fauna of Guxgatan while the orchestra is in black clothing of different styles. Helena is on stage in front of the choir while the orchestra is in the pit in front of the vocalists. They are singing in a church with silver organ pipes behind the performers and wreaths underneath them. In between the organ is a stained glass window with a white jesus and a white dove. In the bottom of the frame are the backs of some of the audience members heads.
